Psychomotor


 

The psychomotor domain focuses on physical abilities, such as manipulation of objects, or physical reactions based on sensory information. The definition of each skill is as follows.

 

Perception: Using sensory cues to determine motor reactions.

 

Set: Knowing your own abilities, predetermining how to respond to a situation.

 

Guided response: Learning a complex skill through imitation.

 

Mechanism: Knowing a skill well enough to perform it with confidence.

 

Complex overt response: Proficient performance of a complex skill.

 

Adaption: Adapting a complex skill to an unexpected task.

 

Origination: Inventing a new complex skill to meet new requirements.
